Happy New Year!!
Just before the New Year, I posted a blog post talking about new years resolutions and how to actually make them last.
If you didn’t get a chance to read it you can check it out HERE.
Today I want to share with you what I am working on this month!
A few reasons!
First of all, I have found myself really enjoying a drink on the weekdays and have noticed that my sleep has not been the best. in My intercepted sleep pattern has led to less energy throughout the days.
Now I don’t know if this is what has been leading to less than great sleep but there is only one way to find out! I have to treat it as an experiment. I have to do it for an extended period of time so I can track my sleep, see if it is improved before I really know. If my sleep doesn’t improve I just try something else but I have to start somewhere.
You might be asking why am I not doing a full dry January?
Welp, 2 reasons actually.
First of all, I truly enjoy a drink some days with a nice meal. It is something that I am okay with, in moderation.
Second, I just know I will not be able to do that for a full month! I think it will be too challenging.
One day I will be watching the Packers win the NFC (Cheers to you Packers fans!!) and I will probably enjoy a delicious beer with it! If I set the goal to not have a drink at all I won’t be able to do it and feel like a failure.
I might end up having a drink on the weekend and then say screw it and just give up completely.
With my dryish goal, it will be challenging enough that I hope to see change but also realistic to reach.
Have you thought about a goal for January?
