As I'm approaching my retirement, I want to be able to travel more which means I have to improve my mobility. When I started I was having issues with my knees and could not walk up or down a flight of stairs easily. By the end of May, working out twice a week, stairs are no longer an issue, up or down. I just came back from a 10 day trip to Europe and was walking over 10,000 steps every day and felt GREAT! From day one I felt comfortable and looked forward to getting to class, the coaches told me not to look at what others were doing just focus on me, it was a no judgement zone. They also kept pushing me forward, to work a little harder and to just try. I want to thank Coach Julia, she has been amazing, always encouraging me to keep going.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.MG PhD2024-05-24I am someone who has never much liked to exercise, even though I'm well-versed in its benefits. I knew I would be more likely to follow-through if I worked with a trainer, but I couldn't rationalize the cost of one-on-one appointments. I saw Core Principles advertised in my Instagram feed and decided I'd try them out. From the very first appointment, the staff were kind, non-judgmental, and non-pressuring in their approach: they wanted to know what my needs and limitations were, and they did a great job of explaining how their curriculum works. The owner, Haylin, and his training staff (I've worked with Emily and Colleen) are encouraging, knowledgeable, and help create a culture that is fun and inviting. I still hate exercise, but I love how I feel at the end of a class, and I really look forward to seeing the people at each session. I'm pretty new so I can't yet comment on the impact 2x/week is having on my body, but I definitely have more energy, optimism, and a greater desire to take better care of my body because of the sessions. I hope to be a very long-time member and to see my body grow in strength, flexibility and balance. Thank you!Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Barbara Ferrari2024-05-23With smaller classes I am stronger and have better form without injury. Its fun and challenging all at the same time.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.cathy seyler2024-05-17Before starting Core Principles, I was a couch potato! I spend a lot of time taking care of my husband and my goals were to be stronger, more flexible and have more stamina in order to be able to do so. I have been here a little over a year, and so far I have accomplished all those things and more! I can stand up easier, I can walk further, and I am not afraid of doing activities that a year ago would have intimidated me. My arms feel so much stronger, and it's easier for me to lift my husband's walker in and out of the car. Overall, I am extremely proud of myself. I feel like I have taken control of my health and my life, and I have been more consistent with my workouts than I ever thought possible. I am looking forward to achieving even more goals!Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Scott Allison2024-05-09Core Principles in Stamford is fantastic! I've been going for over a year, usually twice a week, and I am a lot more fit and a lot more toned up in my arms, abs, and legs. The trainers do a great job tailoring workouts to individual needs and states of fitness, and changing the workout routine every five weeks. I definitely will keep going!Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Josephine Vitti2024-04-15Core Principle is the best. The staff is very friendly and helpful for your individual needs.I had back surgery two years ago and felt that my core, legs and balance needed strengthening. Since I joined Core Principle 8 weeks ago I feel much stronger I still have a long way to go. I like the fact that if I am doing the exercises wrong Emily is always there to help me and gives me the confidence and the push I need. She really is a great trainer.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Maria Burke2024-04-11I started working out at Core Principles about two months ago. I don't like to work out, and I have had some issues with sciatic pain before that really limited my activity. My goals were to gain strength and to avoid any pain in my sciatic nerve. After only two months I have made so much progress. I work out at CP twice a week, and already I have been able to lift heavier weights. I am so proud of not only how consistent I have been, but also of how much my form has improved. Overall, I feel much stronger, much more confident in my capabilities, and I have felt zero pain from my sciatic nerve. The coaches are awesome and caring, and the atmosphere is non-judgmental. I highly recommend this program.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.CD Lowe2024-04-11After 5 weeks and 2 visits per week, I am very satisfied with my training sessions at Core Principles. I knew I needed to add strengthening exercises to my weekly routine after many years of lower back and body mechanic issues but didn’t want to jump into a class or situation where I would end up injured. Greatly appreciate Emily’s energy, enthusiasm and the small adjustments made to form and technique which are so critical to gaining strength incrementally. Looking forward to new challenges and gaining more confidence in my body’s durability.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Priya Gawande2024-04-09I feel more energetic. I now understand what “ engage your core” means. I thought I could never lift weights but now it’s doable. Hope to learn more as I go along on this journey.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Suzanne Repole2024-04-07While scrolling through social media I saw an advertisement for Core Principles Personal Training in Stamford promoting small group personal training for those over age 55. I recently moved from Huntington, Long Island to Greenwich and had started my recovery from breast cancer surgery. I knew I needed strength training to help with my recovery and to maintain bone density health. I just finished my first five week session going twice a week trained by Julia and working out with a wonderful group who make it fun! I feel stronger and more confident and enjoy the sessions immensely. Julia’s attention to detail, correcting form when needed, encouraging you to add more weight to an exercise when she sees you can - all while giving personal attention to everyone in the class really sets Core Principles apart from other gyms. I’m looking forward to starting my next five week session!
