If you watch TV, surf the internet, or read any magazines I’m sure you have seen the same things over and over again.
30 day fixes, 30 day detoxes, “lose 20lbs in 2 weeks” and a ton of other crap that is just outrageous.
Do you know why you keep seeing the same things over and over again? That is because someone makes a ton of money off of these things. That is not to say it is because they work, it is because they prey on people who are constantly searching for their next “quick fix” only to see a little progress maybe, and then fall of and search for the next best thing a few months later.
Today I want to be completely upfront with you and let you know that change takes time.
Look I know everyone wants results as fast as possible and that is completely cool because you want to feel amazing as soon as you can. However, I think setting unrealistic expectations for yourself is a recipe for disaster.
I want you to think about a few different things for a second.
Think about where you are right now in your career, did it take you 30 days to achieve all of the success you have?
While you were in school did you learn everything in a month?
Were you an amazing parent after the first week?
I bet the answer to all of those is a hard no.
It probably took you a lot of time, effort, and energy to be where you are today.
You probably tried a bunch of different things; you may have failed at certain things while succeeding with others.
So as humans we understand that change takes time, so why are we so reluctant to be patient with our health and fitness?
Are you afraid of failing? Are you unwilling to put in the effort and energy? Is it just not important to you right now?
I challenge you to truly as yourself those questions.
I know each and everyone of you can achieve your goals if you are willing to put in the time, energy, effort, and be patient.
It is time we start transitioning away from these quick fixes and focus on long lifestyle changes that last forever.
